The Sea Spray Survivors
A Company Forged in Wreckage
Overview
- Origin: Survivors of the wreck of The Sea Spray
- Affiliation: Former Heterland Navy personnel and associates
- Status: Unofficial adventuring company
- Reputation: Unlucky, resourceful, and disturbingly hard to kill
The Sea Spray Survivors are not a chartered company, mercenary band, or noble order.
They are what remains.
Origins
The members of this group met aboard The Sea Spray, a Heterland naval escort vessel lost under mysterious circumstances off the coast of Osweg. When the ship exploded from within and broke apart at sea, most of her crew perished.
Seven did not.
Washed ashore with wreckage, unanswered questions, and cargo that should not have existed, these survivors were forced to rely on one another immediately. What began as necessity hardened into trust—then something closer to loyalty.
They have since faced:
- Monsters from sea and land
- Bandits, slavers, and false authorities
- Ancient ruins and volatile relics
- Moral choices with no clean answers
They endure.
The Survivors
Thorin Windfurrow
“Stone-Eye”
A dwarven monk and former rigger, steady in storms and unshakable under pressure. Thorin provides discipline, patience, and a grounding presence when chaos threatens to take over.
Basarios Heros
Young, idealistic, and determined to live up to legends, Basarios is a paladin who believes heroism is a choice. He charges first, doubts later, and inspires others even when he stumbles.
Gravos Etnad
A quiet halfling with a talent for survival and an eye for worst-case scenarios. Gravos plans for failure, retrieves his knives, and somehow keeps getting back up when others would stay down.
ChoRoke
A soft-spoken druid and herbalist guided by stars and instinct. ChoRoke heals, scouts, and stands firm when balance is threatened, speaking little but acting decisively.
Zovis
A distracted sorcerer whose blood remembers ancient truths. Curious, brilliant, and increasingly draconic, Zovis bridges the gap between lost empires and living consequences.
Grimgrun Blunderforge
“Box Dwarf”
A failed craftsman turned warlock and would-be brewer. Grimgrun’s magic manifests in tankards, tolling sounds, and strange laughter. He insists he is in control.
Vincent Slag
A cleric of The Judge and former naval legal acolyte. Vincent believes law exists to protect people—and struggles when the world refuses to cooperate. When no authority stands, he becomes one.
How They Work Together
The Sea Spray Survivors are not unified by ideology. They argue. They debate. They question each other constantly.
And yet:
- They do not abandon their own
- They return for the fallen
- They stand when retreat would be easier
- They act when no one else will
Each brings something the others lack.
Reputation
To outsiders, the group appears:
- Disorganized
- Argumentative
- Unorthodox
To those who have seen them in action:
- They survive the impossible
- They make hard choices
- They leave changed places behind them
They are often underestimated.
Once.
What Binds Them
- The wreck of The Sea Spray
- Secrets that refuse to stay buried
- The sense that something ancient has taken notice
- A shared refusal to let others decide their fate
They did not choose this path together.
They continue to walk it anyway.
