The Remnant of the Great Elven Kingdom

Synopsis

A radical elven movement that believes the old kingdom can be reclaimed through violence, sacrifice, and unending resistance.

What People Know

The Remnant of the Great Elven Kingdom is a loose but dangerous network of elves who reject seclusion and accommodation. They believe the fall of the Great Elven Kingdom was not an end, but a betrayal—and that humans now rule lands stolen through blood and fire.

They do not seek coexistence.

They seek reclamation.

Operating in cells, the Remnant carries out thefts, sabotage, and targeted violence against human elites, supply lines, and symbols of authority.

Beliefs

  • The Great Elven Kingdom still exists in spirit

  • Human rule is illegitimate

  • Violence is justified if it hastens elven restoration

They see themselves as freedom fighters. Most others call them terrorists.

Known Activity

  • Recent thefts from wealthy human households

  • Smuggling and acquisition of weapons

  • A human intermediary named Draco was caught stealing from the rich and supplying arms to the Remnant before the party intervened

Draco’s involvement confirmed long-held rumors that the Remnant is willing to use human allies when convenient.

Methods

  • Cell-based organization

  • Use of sympathizers and cutouts

  • Hit-and-fade attacks

  • Propaganda spread through elven communities

Exposure of one cell rarely reveals another.

Values

  • Elven sovereignty

  • Resistance

  • Memory of the old kingdom

Anathema

  • Collaboration with human authorities

  • Elven neutrality

  • Forgetting the past

Reputation

Among humans: feared and used to justify crackdowns.

Among elves: deeply divisive—seen as heroes by some, reckless zealots by others.

Player Notes

The Remnant is not large, but it is patient.

Every crackdown creates new sympathizers.

Not every elf supports them—but all elves suffer when they strike.

Stopping one arms deal does not end a war that exists in memory.
